Science and Technology Center, Clarion University

Completed in 2009, the Joseph P Grunenwald Center for Science and Technology at Clarion University of Pennsylvania houses the university's science programs. The 93,500 ft2, $34 million facility received LEED certification; at completion, it was the largest and most energy efficient educational building in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Features enhancing the building's sustainability include the use of photovoltaic panels for electricity generation, efficient mechanical systems, incorporation of the planetarium and a lecture hall from the original Pierce Science Center, reclamation of materials from the demolished portions of Pierce Center and the addition of green space to the campus.

My contributions to this project included production of detailed construction documents, engineering systems coordination and miscellaneous research.
